The first ramble of 2012 was hosted by Naphill WI on Saturday 11 May. It was lovely and sunny although rather chilly. The ramble of 3.58 miles took members through the Chilterns to the back of Hughenden Manor. A delicious lunch served by Naphill WI was a great reward on our return. Looking forward to more rambles and let's keep our fingers crossed so we can enjoy good weather. |

On 27th April over 70 WI members and friends enjoyed Spanish Tapas at Winslow Public Hall. Delicatessen Estrella provided the delicious meal and accompanying sherries.
The starter of Spanish snacks and olives, caperberries and boquerones was accompanied by a well-chilled Manzanilla sherry.A fuller bodied Fino sherry was served with the embutidos which consisted of 3 types of meat: Serrano ham,Lomo and Chorizo;Sobrasada and mushrooms in fino and chickpeas. The cheeses-Manchega, Valdeon Picos de Europa, Monte Enebro, Mahon and Membrillo- came with an Amontillado sherry. Finally orange bread pudding and fig bonbons were served with very rich tasting Sherry Pedro Ximenez.
During the meal Gordon Dunn and Lorenzo entertained everyone with some delightful guitar music. |
