Volunteering with the WI

Contact Us

Volunteering can help you feel active, useful and productive.
Knowing and developing your skills, accomplishments, interests and values are strong foundations for success.  Volunteer experience can be a great way to learn more about yourself and your potential to grow and develop - and it won't harm your professional CV either!

Your Federation often has 'vacancies' for Volunteers around the County working with one of our Sub-Committees, or at our individual WIs.  We know that we have vast resources of experience and aptitude amongst our members and we can all benefit from it if you'd like to share.  Have a look below at what's going on currently, and click on the appropriate link to make contact and learn more.  We're looking forward to hearing from you!

ACWW Representative for Bucks Federation of WIs

Picture
This is a part time volunteer role.   Associated Countrywomen of the World connects rural and non-rural women and their communities worldwide through a network of member societies and individual members.   ACWW is committed to raising the standard of living and health of rural women and their families, and every Buckinghamshire WI member is also an affiliated member of ACWW.

The ACWW Representative's role is to communicate with Bucks Federation members about the organisation's work, and encourage support for ACWW projects in line with the WI's charitable aims and objectives.

In the first instance, please register your interest with

Working with a sub-committee

Bucks Federation has a number of sub -committees which are busy running a varied programme of events to appeal to members' interests.    Would you be interested in joining them?
Most meet alternate months, some at Stuart Lodge in High Wycombe, some at other venues.

We currently have these sub-committees:

Centenary+1
Communications
Creative Crafts
Leisure & Lifestyle
Member Support
Science and Society
Speakers
ACWW
To find out what each one does have a look under "What We Do" then "Trustees and Committees" on this website; check out the What's On page too for an idea of the events put on by each group.  If you think you could help please get in touch via the page's contact button. The more help we have, the more ideas we have, the more members will benefit.
We know there are lots of really talented people out there with fantastic ideas, so don't be shy in coming forward!
